From Morningside Heights

So from where I am now, I need to go through Chelsea, Hell's Kitchen and Clinton to avoid Midtown where the traffic is bad and then through Lincoln Square and the Upper West Side or is that the lower West Side to get to Morningside Heights.
Harlem is colourful, the locals are friendly but not so good with strangers. Staten Island has history not all of it to be proud of and don't get the taxi driver started on Queens or the Bronx. There is more to New York than just Manhattan you know and Washington Heights is under appreciated and nowhere near Kips Bay.... apparently.
The traffic crawls with legions of yellow cabs all streaming in the same direction or upstreaming in the other direction and I think we are in Midtown or maybe Lenox Hill but I ask him to stop for a moment and leave the meter running whilst I breathe in the trees in Central Park. So on a chilly day in a big big city, I just want to shout at the world from Morningside Heights.
